What wax do you use?
We use natural vegetable soy wax. Soy wax candles burn cleaner and longer than paraffin candles and hold their scent right to the end. Soy is a renewable resource and is biodegradable. Our soy comes from a sustainable source and is certified free of genetically modified materials. We do not test on animals or use ingredients derived from animal products. Aside from being vegan and eco-friendly, our candles are paraffin, herbicide, pesticide, and paraben-free, making soy a better choice for you, your family, and the environment.
What are your candles made of?
All our candles are made from 100% soy wax. Some also contain high-grade perfume oil and some with added essential oils. We use lead-free cotton wicks.
What kind of packaging do you use?
All of our packagings can be recycled. Your orders are packed using biodegradable packing pellets which you can reuse, recycle, or simply wash these down the sink! Our eco-friendly packaging tape has a water-based adhesive and can be fully recycled.
How can I get the best out of my candle?
Getting the first burn right is the key! If you extinguish your candle too soon, it can form a dip in the centre which will continue with every burn. This is called tunneling. To avoid this, always let the wax pool melt right out to the edges of the vessel before extinguishing. Trim your wick to one quarter of an inch before each burn and never burn your candle for longer than 3 hours at a time. This will also avoid your wick getting too long and looping over into the melted wax.
What if the surface of my candle is not perfect?
Sometimes, using natural wax can result in an imperfect finish. This does not affect the quality of your candle. We do not use dyes in our wax, but some fragrance oils can slightly alter the colour of the wax.
What do I do when my candle is finished?
You can simply scrape out the excess wax at the bottom of your candle or wash away with hot soapy water. Don’t forget to either re-use or recycle your vessel!
How will I know when my order is coming?
You will receive an email from us when your order has been processed. Usually, orders dispatch very quickly, but please allow up to 5 working days for national and 10 for international.
You will receive an email from our delivery partners to let you know when your order is being delivered. If you are not home, they will attempt two further times before the order is returned to us. You can add notes such as “leave with neighbour” or “bell not working” to ensure a smoother delivery service.
What if my order is wrong or damaged?

Can I become a stockist?
If you wish to become a CLEAN SLATE stockist, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to enquire. Please note that we are unable to stock online only retailers.
Can I buy samples to try?
Yes! You can order our Discovery Bag which contains samples of our scents of your choosing.
Can I send a gift directly to someone?
Yes! Just enter in their address for delivery and, if possible, add their phone number. This is for our delivery partners and ensures a smoother and speedier delivery service.
Can I add a note and gift wrap?
No problem! Simply tell us it is a gift and write your personal message in the note box and we will write your note for you and add gift wrap. If you forget to add a note at the time of ordering, send us an email at email@example.com and we will take care of it. We also have a Gift Box containing six candles of your choosing that makes a perfect gift.
